SACRE
It is a statutory requirement that each Local Authority establishes a 'Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education' (SACRE) with responsibility for determining the syllabus for Religious Education in its community schools, and to offer advice and guidance to schools and the Local Authority on all matters relating to Religious Education and collective worship.
Cumbria SACRE takes a keen interest in all aspects of Religious Education and Collective Worship in Cumbrian schools. SACRE includes representatives of various faiths as well as representatives from teachers' unions and elected members of the council. SACRE meetings are open to the public.
